    At present, Suramadu Bridge is the longest bridge in Indonesia, having 5.438 m length. The uniqueness of this bridge is the three parts which divide the bridge, those are approaching bridge, main bridge, and causeway. This bridge also provides a special lane for motorists outside of the bridge. For the feasibility test of these bridges, it requires a test to the load to verify the real carrying capacity which is able to be borne by the bridge. Article present a case of foundation which has a large dimension and carrying capacity, by the testing method that is done very limitedly; such as Statnamic and Load Cell Test, or Osterberg Cell Test. Based on the result of the Load Cell test - first phase, a decision to implement Load Test second phase is made. Because it is proposed to use a grouting on the tip of foundation, Load Cell second phase is implemented before and after the grouting. From the results of Load Cell Test second phase, it seems that the implementation of Grouting does not significantly increase the carrying capacity, but give a large contribution on the carrying capacity of friction

    Article analyzes the difference between outside and inside temperature on Suramadu bored pile foundation, the tension, and find out whether there is a crack on the foundation concrete or not. Based on the research result, it is concluded that maximum and minimum temperature happens on 80 hours hydration process after a foundry with maximum temperature 43,94°C and minimum 20°C; so the temperature difference on the bored pile foundation is 23,94°C. From the temperature difference, the maximum tension value is 0, 56 N/mm2 and allowed tension is 2,27 N/mm2. So, it is generaly stated that Suramadu bored pile foundation is saved from cracking because the value of maximum tension is lower than allowed concrete tension

    Proyek Pembangunan Sulfur Jetty dan Pekerjaan Dredging TUKS Migas Proyek RDMP RU VBalikpapan berlokasi Kota Balikpapan, Kalimantan Timur. Pada proyek ini terdapat 2 (dua)lingkup pekerjaan utama, yaitu pekerjaan sulfur jetty dan pekerjaan dredging. Seperti proyek-proyek lain, pada proyek ini dilakukan review engineering terhadap gambar desain, volumepekerjaan, metode pekerjaan dan juga termasuk jadwal pekerjaan. Tujuan dilakukan reviewengineering ini untuk mengevaluasi apakah perubahan metode pelaksanaan pada pekerjaan betonIn Situ menjadi Precast ini dapat memaksimalkan pekerjaan sesuai dengan konsep mutu, waktudan biaya. Untuk itu di lakukan pengajuan perubahan tersebut kepada Pertamina disertaibeberapa alasan teknis yang mempengaruhi pekerjaan tersebut. Untuk perubahan metode tersebutdilakukan beberapa proses seperti pengajuan perubahan desain, perubahan metode kerja, prosesperhitungan struktur dan beberapa hal lainnya yang terkait dengan mutu dari struktur akibat dariperubahan metode pelaksanaan. Dari hasil perhitungan struktur telah menyesuaikan dengankebutuhan sesuai dengan rencana awal, dengan merubah metode pemasangan namun tetapmenjaga kekuatan struktur sesuai dengan rencana awal. In this project there are2 (two) main work scopes, namely sulfur jetty work and dredging work. Like other projects, anengineering review of the design drawings, work volumes, work methods, and work schedules isalso carried out. The purpose of this engineering review is to evaluate whether the change in themethod of implementation of concrete works in Situ to Precast can maximize the work inaccordance with the concepts of quality, time and cost. For this reason the submission of theamendment to Pertamina was accompanied by several technical reasons that affected the work. Forthe method change, a number of processes were carried out such as the submission of designchanges, changes in work methods, the process of calculating the structure and several othermatters related to the quality of the structure due to changes in the method of implementation. Fromthe results of the calculation of the structure has adjusted to the needs in accordance with the initialplan, by changing the installation method but still maintaining the strength of the structure inaccordance with the initial plan. One of important factors in this construction is about a budget plan, which this plan was made before the construction to be implemented. Article represents budget planning which is calculated carefully based on the plan (bestek), plan design (bestek design), work unit price, and needed time to complete the construction. According to the analysis result of unit price of column and 12th floor plate of the building, so the average price per m3 is Rp 2,373,749, - meanwhile, for the construction of floor plate is Rp 2,116,100

    Model Parameter Sensitivity for Structural Analysis of Composite Slab Structures in Fire

    The behavior of buildings during fires has recently become a significant issue. Analyzing structures at elevated temperatures is complex and challenging in structural engineering as engineers must take into consideration factors that may not be included at ambient temperatures, namely material and geometric non-linearity as well as time-temperature-varying strength. In this study, the finite element software ABAQUS was applied to model and simulate the behavior of structures in fire events. Steel beams and columns were modeled using two-node linear beam elements, while concrete slabs were discretized using shell elements. A series of verification analyses were conducted to ensure that the analysis produced an acceptable level of accuracy. Furthermore, an extensive sensitivity study was carried out to obtain the appropriate modeling parameters to be used in subsequent numerical analyses

    Suramadu Bridge was planned and had operated in the middle of 2009. The bridge located at a site of high enough wind speed, accommodated movement of four-wheel vehicles and motorcycles. Therefore, an insight study related to aspects of the bridge user’s safety and convenience needed to be done. Vehicles, which will pass the bridge, will get an impellent due to wind. A huge impellent will be felt on the highest part of bridge is cable stayed of bridge. Based on data, on the wind speed at bridge deck, there was a possibility that the wind speed at the bridge deck exceeded 15 m/s. Thus, the speed limit for four-wheel vehicle was necessary to be done. On that case, the bridge operation must be equipped with a monitoring and warning system which will automatically informed wind speed, and steps which must be done by the bridge operator. Another alternative was by providing a wind shield on the bridge. The consequence was an aerodynamic study on the wind shield form which will be installed, was needed to ensure the aerodynamic performance of bridge. The third alternative was that a study on the aerodynamic stability of cable stayed bridge with a wind tunnel test was needed. Last alternative was a testing of Section Model Test could be done by modifying bridge model, which had previously been used in a technical study, so that it could save testing cost

    Bored pile foundation system is widely used in various building foundations. The main reason of using this system is the depth and diameter of bored pile or the volume of concrete required, can easily be adjusted to the load structure which will be strutted. Thus, the function of bored pile foundations as a load buffer is very important because it has a great risk if the quality of the bored pile, both in the planning and implementation, is not too good. To get a good quality and integrity of construction, an integrity test of the pile was needed, by using a Cross Hole Ultrasonic Test. The test is done on Suramadu Bridge which was designed to be able to withstand with the working load. It is concluded that the foundation integrity of bored pile has already fulfilled the required criteria
